Highly-rated Stevenage forward Ben Kennedy has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
The talented Northern Ireland Under-19 captain, who has been tracked by several Premier League clubs, suffered a knee injury in training and will require an operation.
Chairman Phil Wallace, “This is yet another blow for the club and for Ben personally. After returning from time away over Christmas his appearance against Leyton Orient showed everyone what he is capable of and I have no doubt that he will bounce back better than ever.
“I said recently I’ve never seen an injury crisis like this and I can’t believe it’s got worse. Combined with various loan deals expiring it does leave the squad particularly thin. However with the transfer window now open we’re working day and night to get the right players in so we can climb the table.”
