Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • Sarll on Saturday's game against Carlisle...

“He is always very tough tactically, Keith. His teams have always got an adaptation to them and he has always been very good tactically.

“So we are preparing for lots of eventualities in terms of the adaptations of his team, how they do it and their strategy.

“They can flip very quickly, because he has been there now for a while, he has a lot of continuity to that side now.

“They have got a lot of experience. You look at their side and they have got Grainger, Hill, Parkes, Liddle, Jones, Hope, Joyce, so they have got a lot of experience in their side.

“So they are always tough games. They are physically tough, technically tough and tactically they are tough, it is never an easy one."

  • Sarll on the ongoing hunt for January transfers...

“It is a real exhausting time for me, January. I worked out yesterday I made 64 phone calls and I was involved in another 30, the days are just ridiculous.

“We haven’t got enough players. It is not that we have lots of injuries, but what we have got is a squad that we tried to reduce in preparation for January, in terms of the permanent players that went out of the club.

“And we did that to try and then improve the capabilities of the squad for the last three or four months.

“But, as we saw last year with Jack King, it goes right to the wire.

“It swings backwards and forwards constantly.

“It has to be right and I like to think that any decision that has been made during my time as manager has been for the longevity of the football club.

“You can see with the kids that are being played and we have to make sure we carry on working on that, there is no desperation needed.

“We just need to keep pushing forward and try to make the necessary additions that give us that continual development as the season wears on.”

  • Sarll on the run of nine home games without defeat...

“The players are not proud of their work on Tuesday, but they are certainly less disappointed than I thought they would be this morning.

“So I think they are going to take a lot of belief from the chances we created against Morecambe and then obviously against Reading.

“But the supporters are massive for us at The Lamex. They really give us that kick and I think the players just enjoy the dimensions of the ground and the tightness of it, because we like to press.

“The goals we have scored in recent games give us that added belief that we can do that whenever we are at home.

“There have also been some key tests at home lately. I go back to Accrington after the Luton performance - we got back to 1-1, then we were 2-1 down pretty quickly and to go on and win that game was a big psychological test.

"The same when we went 2-0 up against Swindon, they got it back to 2-2 and we then went 3-2 up just before half-time.

"Against Chesterfield we were 2-0 up, they made it 2-1 and then we scored from the kick-off to make it 3-1.

“There have been some hurdles. It has not been plain sailing so there have been some tests along the way."
