  • Onto the game...

Following a win over Crawley at home last Saturday, Stevenage have mvoed just three points away from the play-offs. Dino Maamria and his squad will be hoping to finally break the pattern of consecutive wins and losses this weekend as the search for consistency continues.

Morecambe, on the other hand, will be looking down rather than up, as they sit in 21st place, four points off the relegation zone.

The Shrimps come into Saturday’s game without a win since just before Christmas, when they conquered Cambridge United 3-0. With two away games on the bounce for Jim Bentley’s side after Saturday, Morecambe know a win would be vital for their survival aspirations.

  • Team News...

Alex Reid's return from suspension is as positive as today's team news will get as the camp have been hit hard by injury in recent weeks.

Alex Revell, Danny Newton touch, Ben Kennedy, Scott Cuthbert and Joel Byrom are all in dangerous of missing out whilst Kurtis Guthrie will serve the third of his four game suspension.

  • One to Watch...

The evergreen Kevin Ellison is our One to Watch as he continues to lead from the front for the Shrimps. Now aged 39, Ellison is one of Stevenage's greatest foes over the years, often scoring for his side against Boro, including in last season's fixture by the Bay.

  • View from the Camp...

“If we are going to achieve anything this season, we need to go on a little winning run and I think we are due one.

“If we can improve that, we can go on this season and achieve something special. We are conscious of that we have to do better away from home and we are looking at all kinds of things. We are looking at our mindset going into games, we are looking at our preparation and we are going to do that different tomorrow. We are trying things differently to see if we can find that winning formula away from home.

“It hasn’t been disastrous, we just need to be a little bit better. We have had difficult games on the road but this week, at least we have had seven days between the games. It gives us a chance to re-group and prepare properly for the game.”

  • Previous Meetings...

With over double the number of wins, Stevenage have a dominant record over Morecambe.

The two clubs frequently butted heads in the Conference before achieving promotion to League Two, where Stevenage have enjoyed an unbeaten record at the Globe Arena of 2 wins and 3 draws.

A memorable Fraser Franks volley in added time saved a point for Stevenage last season and you have to go all the way back to 2005 to find our last defeat at Morecambe, with Jon Nurse scoring the only Stevenage goal in a 4-1 defeat.
