UNDER-18S EXIT FA YOUTH CUP

30 November 2016

Stevenage exited the FA Youth Cup after a 10-1 defeat to a rampant Spurs U18 side this evening.

The Premier League side’s youngsters were a class above throughout and never looked back after Kazaiah Sterling opened the scoring without 90 seconds from close range.

A second Sterling goal after 10 minutes put Spurs firmly in charge and although Boro improved as the half went on, Sterling’s excellent hat-trick goal before half-time killed the game as a contest.

Claudio Ofosu shot over as Boro rallied at the start of the second half, but two Japhet Tanganga headers in five minutes put Spurs further ahead.

Andronicos Georgiou curled wide of the near post in a rare foray forward, but the hosts were rampant all night and created chances galore before extending their lead further through Timothy Eyoma.

Spurs never took their foot off the pedal and four more goals in the final 14 minutes from Brown, Shashoua (2) and Roles rounded off a disappointing night for Stevenage.
