SARLL: IT IS A GOOD TEST FOR US

10 February 2017

Darren Sarll has praised his players for the way they have fought their way back into form with two straight wins and three out of five in the league.

“They are human beings and human beings can have tendencies to make mistakes or under perform from time to time. That is just natural. Everyone has human error in them, I certainly have.

“It has been a re-focus and an improvement in attitude. The great thing about this group of players is whenever we have had a little dip, their response is excellent. That shows the quality of their character.

“You look at them you and go, ‘OK at least you have reacted positively, responded in a good manner and taken the situation seriously with focus.’

“I think that is a real good quality we have got within this squad of players.”

Wycombe are going well again this season, currently in the play-off positions and on a superb run of form across their past 13 league games.

Although Sarll has reiterated his respect for Wycombe, the manager is confident in the group and says they don’t fear anybody.

“It is a good test for us and I think we have the players to go and beat any side in this division.

“No due respect to any opponent that we play, they don’t scare us and I am sure Gareth is saying that Stevenage don’t scare him.

“What you know about a Wycombe Wanderers side is that they are always going to come and give it their absolute best. You don’t get an easy battle. You mix that with some very good footballers - because I think people take away that credit from them – so it is a good side.

“I think it is about consistency with us and whether we can replicate the performances of the last fortnight or so.

“It is important we come out the tunnel in the same mental and psychological place we have done in the last two games.”
