ACADEMY TO HOST NATIONAL TRIALS

The Stevenage Football Academy has been selected by the United Kingdom Minifootball Association (UKMA) as the venue to host its first trials to choose the England squad for international matches next year.

Speaking of the announcement UKMA’s Membership Manager, Alex Young, explained that the decision was designed to give England the best possible chance of success in 2014: “We are extremely grateful to the Academy for all their help with this. It is a first-class facility and will provide a superb setting for the hopefuls who want to play for England.”

Jez Davies, Assistant Manager at the Academy said, “We are delighted to be hosting the England trials for an emerging version of football next Spring. Small-sided football is a massive part of football development both here and England and abroad and we are really pleased to be facilitating this development.”
