GW ON YORK VICTORY: "THE BOYS WORKED HARD AND GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED"

17 January 2015

Graham Westley praised his players after this afternoon’s 2-0 win at York City, pointing to hard work and organisation as key factors in the victory.

He told Boro Player, “It was a tough game, they’re not a bad side (York). The manager won promotion out of this league last year, he knows what he’s doing and I thought they were a tough outfit. They certainly weren’t easy points to win. The boys worked very, very hard and got what they deserved.

“They’re starting to play with some organisation, they’re starting to understand each other’s game, they’re starting to understand the game I ask them to play. I look at the pitch now and I see certain habits coming through.

"They’re doing things in an organised way, Player A knows what Player B is going to do because they’re playing on organisation. We haven’t seen that in Stevenage shirts for a long time and it’s good to see that back.”
