JEBB: I HAD MY WORK CUT OUT TO EARN DEAL

1 September 2015

Ex-Arsenal youngster and Boro loanee, Jack Jebb has today signed a professional deal with the club after spending the last month on trial with the team.

The 19 year old spoke shortly after putting pen to paper and said the deal is the result of a his determination to impress.

“Very pleased. I have been here for a while now; training hard, trying to impress the manager and thankfully it has paid off. I just can’t wait to get started now.

“It was tough. There is a lot of competition, a lot of midfielders so I had my work cut out. I obviously had to put the work in during pre-season games and training.

“The gaffer said he has been impressed with me though and thinks I can add to the team and help us move forward so that was a big boost.”

Jebb is no stranger to Stevenage having been with us for two loan spells last season. He says the Boro fans haven’t seen the best of him yet.

“100%. Last season I struggled with injury and when I played I wasn’t really fully fit so there is definitely a lot more to show the fans this season.”

Last week, Jebb scored a fantastic goal in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Southend (which you can watch below) and he says it was a good time to score.

“I can score goals and have a good strike on me but it is definitely something I want to bring more of into my game. The one I scored against Southend was timely as obviously it was in front of the gaffer and a big opportunity which thankfully I took.

“My hopes this season are to be starting games, getting a few goals, a few assists and just helping the team in anyway I can really."
