GAMBIA 2016 - "LET THERE BE LIGHT!"

30 April 2015

Join Stevenage FC Foundation in their 2016 charity trip to Gambia!

Stevenage Football Club Foundation is pleased to announce details of it 2016 Gambia Project – "Let There Be Light!"

Following previous trips to the village of Sittanunku in the north of Gambia, the Foundation will be returning for its third successive trip between the 12th and 19th April 2016.

Throughout the course of the week the Foundation and its accompanying volunteers will install 50 solar panels, 100 lights and 50 USB charging points in Sittanunuku, providing the village's 2,000 residents with a sustainable source of power and light for the first time.

In addition, the group will undertake teaching and coaching in local partner schools and academies, further develop a school playground and install 12 solar power floodlights at the Mansa Wally Football Academy.

If this sounds like something you would like to get involved in then come along to the Foundation’s Gambia 2016 Information Evening on Monday 1st June 2015 at 7pm. The evening will be held in the Executive Suite in the South Stand of the stadium and provide interested volunteers with more information about the trip.

Bob FM's Bev Rimmer was among those who made the 2015 trip and you can listen to her three-part report on her experiences. Part 1 is here, Part 2 is here and Part 3 is here.
