INAUGURAL LADIES GAME TOMORROW

29 April 2014

Fans are reminded that tomorrow will see the inaugural Stevenage Ladies FC game right here at The Lamex Stadium and you’re invited!

The new side, which combines Stevenage FC with Stevenage Borough Ladies FC, will play their first ever game against QPR Ladies on Wednesday 30th April at 7.45pm. Tickets cost just £2 for adults on the gate, with U16s free.

Due to pre-World Cup commitments with FIFA, Howard Webb will no longer be available to referee the game, however stepping up to take the whistle will be Sian Massey, who regularly officiates in the Premier League and Football League. Also amongst the officials that evening will be young local referee Sophie Rinaldi, who has previously officiated in the Women’s FA Cup.

Stevenage Ladies FC will initially have a first and reserve team and is likely to play its home matches at Codicote Sports Ground. It will also train twice a week at new state-of-the art facilities at Marriotts School in Stevenage. The initial vision is to create a sustainable women’s club which can inspire future generations to play the game.
