LOAN WATCH: FEJIRI HELPS FARNBOROUGH TO FIRST WIN

24 August 2014

Stevenage loanee Fejiri Okenabirhie helped Farnborough to their first win of the season in the Vanarama Conference South yesterday as they won 2-1 at Wealdstone.

The young striker was a 72nd minute sub for Boro as they finally picked up maximum points at the fourth time of asking, courtesy of two strikes from former Stevenage man Matt Ball.

Elsewhere in the same division Rohdell Gordon started for Chelmsford City and played 74 minutes in their 1-1 home draw with Sutton United. Glen Southam scored a second half penalty to put the Clarets a goal up but a James Love own goal saw the points shared.

George Allen played the full 90 minutes as Bishop’s Stortford fell to a 2-1 defeat at St Albans, a result which sees the Blues drop to 14th in the table.

A league above in the Vanarama Conference Premier, Joseph N’Guessan was a 64th minute sub for Aldershot as they earned a point with a 1-1 draw at home to pre-season promotion favourites Forest Green Rovers. Jo replaced former Boro man Mark Molesley just past the hour, by which time the goals had already been scored by Brett Williams and Lee Hughes. A total of six ex-Stevenage men were involved in the fixture with Sam Hatton also playing for the Shots and Sam Wedgbury, Rob Sinclair and Luke Oliver featuring for Forest Green, with Steve Arnold on the bench.
