Boro Player spoke to Mark Newson today ahead of the trip to Yeovil Town this Saturday, and he is optimistic about the side's chances of making the play offs.

"Yeovil is going to be a tough one, they've just had a decent little run under Gary [Johnson], he's done well since he's been there and it's always a tough one going down there." He admitted, before revealing that the side are only focussed on that fixture, despite huge games against Carlisle United and Brentford coming up.

"Obviously we have Carlisle and Brentford after that, I know it's a cliché but we're taking it one game at a time. We've still got a lot to play for but we can't think ahead to Carlisle and Brentford, if we get beat at Yeovil I'd think we'll be out of the equation."

The assistant manager explained that the backroom staff and players are still in the belief that a top six spot can be achieved, and that they will do all they can to achieve it. "We still believe within the group that we can make the play offs. We can still affect it because the teams we are playing are up there and Carlisle and Notts County have tough games this weekend, I think we'll see a couple more twists and turns and we do have a say in it because of the fixtures we have. There's still a lot to play for and that's how we're preparing for it.

After the tough Easter weekend the side now play another 3 games in 7 days, but the amount of games that have been contested recently hasn't got the spirits in the camp down.

"We've had a tough schedule; I was talking to the players recently and they feel they've had a tough season but with five games to go they're still very much up for it. It's still quite buzzy and lively and we're still having fun on the training ground."
