CONNOR CALCUTT ON HIS FIRST STEVENAGE FC GOAL: "I'M OVER THE MOON"

20 August 2014

Connor Calcutt scored his first competitive goal for Stevenage in the 1-1 draw at Plymouth and after the game he told Boro Player he was ‘over the moon’.

He explained: “Darius took a head injury and I was told to warm up and make sure I was ready. He couldn’t carry on so I just wanted to try and make another impression. The ball fell to me at the right place and I managed to get it in. I’m over the moon to get my goal.”

The striker scored 41 goals for Berkhamsted last season and after a full pre-season at The Lamex Stadium was handed a contract at Stevenage.

“The gaffer’s made me put every single yard in to earn my contract and rightly so,” he continued. “I think it’s going to do me the world of good in this environment, getting better every day and training every day. I just want to keep working hard and trying to earn my place in that starting eleven. Onwards and upwards hopefully!”
