GRAHAM WESTLEY NOMINATED FOR MANAGER OF THE MONTH AWARD

30 April 2015

Stevenage FC manager Graham Westley has been nominated for the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month Award for April.

GW's nomination comes after Boro secured their League 2 playoff place with a six match unbeaten run during the month which saw four wins and two draws. Also up for the award are Southend's Phil Brown, Burton's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Shrewsbury's Micky Mellon.

Stevenage's results in April
Tranmere - H - 2-2
Cheltenham - A - 1-0
Northampton - H - 2-1
Portsmouth - H - 1-0
Accrington - A - 2-2
Carlisle - H - 1-0

The nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month award for April.
Phil Brown (Southend United)
Brown proved himself to be the master of timing as Southend charged towards Sky Bet League 2 automatic promotion with seven wins from seven games, including a vital 1-0 victory at rivals Bury. Most remarkably of all, his side kept a clean sheet on every occasion.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Burton Albion)
Hasselbaink maintained the equilibrium among his squad magnificently as Burton Albion cruised to promotion with four wins and two draws from six fixtures. He trusted his players and kept an admirably low profile, allowing them to enjoy the success.

Micky Mellon (Shrewsbury Town)
Five wins from six games, all without conceding a goal, earned Mellon more hero worship in Shropshire as Shrewsbury earned promotion to Sky Bet League 1. The highlight was a fluent, confident 4-0 win over Play-Off chasing Exeter City.

Graham Westley (Stevenage)
Westley's love affair with Stevenage continued as he aims to guide the club to a third promotion under his stewardship. Four one-goal victories and two draws in six games secured a Play-Off berth for his side with relative comfort.

The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
