TEDDY: CAMBRIDGE GAME IS ONE WE ARE GOING TO ATTACK

25 September 2015

Stevenage manager, Teddy Sheringham says that last Saturday’s defeat at Barnet is now well behind the team as they prepare for another away derby at Cambridge.

“Obviously there were a few words said after Saturday. I don’t think anyone was happy after Saturday’s second half performance and result. We have had a look at it but we move on now and are looking at Cambridge and what we can do to go there and get a result.

“We are going away from home, Cambridge have paid a lot of money out this year and they have got some good players up there so we know they can come into form at any time.

“Anytime is a good time to get a result. It is a big game for us, same as the last one, same as the next one after that. We need to try and win 3 points and if not, take something out the game which is potentially a very tough one, but one we are going to attack.”

Cambridge’s top scorer and marquee summer signing, Barry Corr missed out the last game with injury and it is unlikely he will return for Saturday.

“He didn’t play in the last game so we don’t know if he is fit or not. I know they are going to be a big, strong team and one that we are going to have to compete against whether Barry Corr plays or not.

"They are going to be an aggressive, big team that we will have to come up against with our best attitude to stop them getting any goals against us."

One feel-good story coming out of the training ground this week is the return of Ben Kennedy to training. The youngster has recovered from hip surgery and the gaffer says he could be like a new signing.

“I have only heard about what Ben can do and I have seen him twice in training this week and it is fantastic to have him back. He could be like a new signing for us really having him back.

“He is full of beans, very excited, wants to be out there every day and I am sure that it won’t be long before he is back in and around the first team.”
