TEDDY: WE WANT TO PUT ON A SHOW

21 August 2015

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s home game against Hartlepool, manager Teddy Sheringham briefly reflected on Tuesday’s defeat at Leyton Orient.

“It is what it is, they scored three goals and we didn’t.  It doesn’t matter what I think of the score line, that is the reality and we have to deal with it.

“I like to think in any of the games we have played so far we take a lot of positives. At the moment there aren’t enough positives to outweigh the negatives which is why we are in the position we are in.”

After three away games on the spin, the gaffer is looking forward to being back on home soil and is expecting a performance.

“We will be raring to go, we have got a home game and we are professionals, that is what we do – we will get on with it and make sure we put on a performance on Saturday.

“It is a tough start we have had but we have a home game tomorrow and we want to put on a show.

“They are up there and they deserve to be up there, they have had some fantastic results so far but we are on our home ground and we will make it very difficult for them and get after them.”

When asked about potential new signings, Teddy says that he is still after some new additions.

“I am looking, it is not as easy as you would think though to just say, ‘let’s go out and get this one or that one’, there are other people looking at the same players, some people don’t want to move.

“It is interesting to say the least but hopefully we will come up with something over the next couple of days.”
