Stevenage have completed the youth loan signing of Arsenal’s Anthony Jeffrey until the end of the season.
Jeffrey, 18, is renowned for his searing pace, having previously been named one of the top three fastest boys in the country, and despite competing in athletics as a youngster the winger moved into the world of football.
He used his pace to impress at the Gunners and played in the under-18s side as a schoolboy, quickly becoming one of the most consistent performers in Steve Bould’s side. Mainly used on the left wing, he can also play on the right or in attack and in 19 youth team appearances last season, his first year at London Colney, he netted 6 goals.
As well as speed he also has the ability to deliver dangerous crosses and his hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed with call-ups to the Arsenal Reserve side.
The 2011/12 season was described as “a promising year” by his parent club and he will now be hoping to step up another level into men’s football with the Boro.
