BORO COMPLETE CHORLEY SWOOP

31 January 2013

Stevenage have this evening completed a deadline day swoop for Leyton Orient captain Ben Chorley.

The dominant centre half has put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal with the Boro.

Chorley started his career at Arsenal and was part of the promising youth team that won the FA Youth Cup in consecutive seasons in 2000 and 2001. With 8 months remaining on his Gunners contract he opted for a move to the Championship to Wimbledon and stayed with the club during their move to Milton Keynes.

After a loan spell with Gillingham he moved to Tranmere Rovers and played more than 80 times before switching to Orient and he made over 150 appearances for the O’s, as both a captain and fans’ favourite.

Reaction to the deal from manager Gary Smith will be online shortly.
