ANOTHER YEAR FOR DAY

13 May 2013

Stevenage goalkeeper Chris Day has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The experienced ‘keeper made 19 appearances last season and he is now looking forward to another year at the Lamex Stadium.

Day, 37, joined Boro in 2008 and has since made over 200 appearances. In that time he has lifted the FA Trophy at the Wembley Stadium, played every league game en route to being crowned Champions of Blue Square Premier Division and just a year later lifted the League Two Play-off trophy at Old Trafford.

He helped the side to their highest ever league finish as the League One play-offs were secured in the 2011/12 season but ultimately a one-goal defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane ended hopes of an historic triple promotion.
