TICKET NEWS:

LAST TIME WE MET:

TEAM NEWS:

There are no fears of suspensions anymore as the deadline has now passed for players to reach ten yellow cards and subsequently receive a two game ban. Darius Charles and Jon Ashton are both touch ‘n’ go to make the squad but there’s good news in that GW has hinted Roarie Deacon may be available before the end of the season.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM:

Graham Westley spoke positively ahead of the game in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.

“We have to get a lot right between now and the end of the season but it’s only a couple of weeks to go. It didn’t look as though we were still going to be in the shake-up going back probably a month. We’d have loved to have got ourselves closer to the exit route before now, but we haven’t and it’s just about what we do now. 360 minutes of football that’s all. There’ll be a team amongst the pack at the bottom that jumps out of it.

“People will say, ‘How can you do it?’ I’ll tell you one thing - you have to try to do it, to do it. You have to believe that you can do it, to do it and you have to be bold enough to have a go at it - we’ll be all those things.”

VITAL STATISTICS:

Sheffield’s home form has been particularly strong this season; they’ve got the sixth best record in the league with ten wins, seven draws and four losses this season. Interestingly, Sheff Utd have failed to come back from behind to win this season, although on three occasions the club have taken the lead, and lost.

RECENT FORM:

Although their form isn’t quite at the level it was when they recently went ten wins in a row, Sheffield United have turned around their season after early flirtations with relegation. Such was their up-turn in form; some had them down as outsiders to sneak into the play-offs, although those hopes seem dead now. United have now gone three league games unbeaten, most recently beating South Yorkshire rivals, Rotherham.

KEY MAN:

Jose Baxter is one of the most talented players in the division and has impressed in his first season at Bramall Lane. Originally coming from the Everton youth system, he signed for Oldham in 2012 where he played for a season before moving to Sheffield. He actually started the season for the Latics and scored twice in their opening day victory over Boro.
