BORO RAISE IMPORTANT FUNDS

17 December 2012

The club are pleased to announce that after the final count on fundraising since our Armed Forces Day with Preston North End on November 10th we have raised over £2,000.

Our initial auction for the limited edition Poppy Appeal match worn Stevenage shirts, signed by the player, helped to raise over £1,200 before Mark Roberts’ shirt went for over £300 online! We raised £80 at our Sportsman’s Dinner and a further £250 at our second shirt auction.

These funds will be split equally between the Royal British Legion and SFC in the Community’s Kenya fund, which will be sending 21 Boro associates to Nakuru in Kenya next year to help cook, teach, build and coach.

In addition more than £200 was collected in buckets on the day of the Preston game, 100% of this will go to the Royal British Legion.

We would like to thank all supporters that got involved with the fundraising for a great success!
