HORLOCK PROUD OF CALL UP

20 December 2012

Boro Player spoke to youngster Charlie Horlock today, and he spoke of the proud moment he was called up to the first team squad against Crawley Town.

Charlie described it as “brilliant”, and continued “I found out on the Friday, the Gaffer called me into his office and told me that I had to be called upon. I was very privileged to be on the bench.”

Steve Arnold, in goal on the day, went down with what looked like a head injury with 10 minutes to go, and Horlock joked that had he got his chance, someone important may have missed it!

“My Dad was up in the stands, unfortunately he had to leave ten minutes early so he missed Stevie going down! It was a good experience, I really enjoyed it.”

Speaking about the moment that Arnold went down, Horlock said that he was “ready to come on” but admitted that “a bit of nerves kicked in!”
