Captain Mark Roberts has today spoken of his desire to secure a positive result at the Lamex Stadium on Boxing Day, and urged fans to bring friends and family and create a memorable atmosphere.
Speaking to the official website this morning, Robbo said “Boxing Day is always a big day in the football calendar, with the game being called off on Saturday it is our opportunity to kick off the Christmas period in the best possible manner.
“Also, having slipped out of the Play off places, we want to return as quick as possible. “
A bumper crowd is anticipated for the tie, and with the game coming just a day after the Christmas festivities it is hoped to be a day of celebration for Stevenage.
Roberts said that he is looking to the crowd to have a positive affect on proceedings, saying “I’m sure the atmosphere will be second to none, and we will be looking towards our home form in the second half of the season to build a platform for our push towards promotion.”
He finished by offering his best wishes to Boro fans this Christmas, “I hope you all have a good Christmas, and hope to celebrate a good victory on Wednesday.”
Our fixture with Coventry City will kick off at 3:00pm and you can pick up your tickets either at the ticket office or on the turnstile on the day of the game!
