BORO HOLD SOCCER CAMPS IN IRELAND

23 July 2012

Stevenage Football Club in the Community spent time raising the clubs profile in Dublin on Saturday holding two half day Soccer Camps for children aged 5-12 years old at Lourdes Celtic FC.

The historical club in the countries capital has seen players such as Niall Quinn and Damien Duff come through the ranks and are regarded as the leading youth development club in Ireland.

The camps which were attended by over 50 children saw the clubs Head of Community Alex Tunbridge deliver a variety of fun mini games on the pitch and talk about the club off it, as the club continues to make friends on its pre-season tour.

Participants from the camps then turned out in their numbers the same evening to watch Boro secure a 7-0 win over St James Gate, during which the players took time to sign autographs and answer questions from the children.

A further day of camps will be held on Tuesday at UCD in the build-up to Boro’s final tour match at the UCD Bowl.

Don’t forget that the scheme’s six week summer soccer camp programme at the Stevenage Football Academy kicks off today, priced at £12.50 for one day, £22 for two days or just £48 for the week. Simply turn up on the day and join in the fun. For more information please call the academy on 01438 368068.
