Boro Player spoke to Lucas Akins ahead of this weekend’s game against high flying Sheffield United and is hoping to bounce back and produce a good performance, hopefully getting back to winning ways.

“The game couldn’t come any sooner and couldn’t be a better game to go after Saturdays result against Preston it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to bounce back and if we get a result we could go second and that’s what we want to do.”

With most people probably thinking that a game away against the Blades is not the best game to try and record a positive result after the defeat to Preston, Akins believes it is a great opportunity as the team will be looking forward to playing in front of a packed ground with an intense atmosphere against a top quality side.

“With it being at a great stadium at Bramall Lane against good opposition the lads want to test themselves against the top players in the league and there is no better opportunity and with Bournemeouth and Tranmere also coming up it will be a hard test for us and hopefully the boys can show that resolve in the past when we have recovered from difficult situations and get a good results.”
