Boro Player spoke to winger Luke Freeman yesterday ahead of our trip to Bramall Lane this weekend, his first return to the ground since last season’s Play Off Semi Final defeat.
When asked if he thought memories of last season would affect the players, Luke replied “A lot of the lads are looking forward to it as there is a bit of history there after losing there last year in the play-offs.
“We have lots of new players so they won’t be feeling the same as the players that were there last year, but I’m sure everyone will go out and give it their all.”
Stevenage will be looking for a positive result against the Blades, who suffered only their first defeat of the season against MK Dons last weekend, and with tough ties against a resurgent AFC Bournemouth and table toppers Tranmere Rovers following quickly, the former Arsenal youngster admits that a tough period lies ahead.
“It is a big month and all the lads are confident, we just need to get last week’s game out of our heads and keep working hard. At the end of the day at home we have lost two games 4-0 and 4-1 but we are still third in the league so we need to concentrate on the positives and crack on.”
