NEWSON ON DOUBLE SESSIONS

29 November 2012

Boro Player spoke to Assistant Manager Mark Newson on Thursday, as he continues a week of work with no game on Saturday.

Speaking about how that affects things on the training ground, Newson said "We probably work a little bit hard because there's no end product with no game so we'll have a couple of double sessions over the next week or so."

Although the break gives players the chance to rejuvenate slightly, it is under unfortunate circumstances with the club being eliminated from the FA Cup in the First Round, but Newson is looking at the positives.

"You always like to play at the weekend, that's what the players and coaching staff love. You look forward to the end of the week when there's a game coming but we've got one or two injuries that we're trying to get back fit again so this time will give us a chance to do that.

"It also gives us the time to put some work in on the training ground to turn things, we're always striving to improve the squad in terms of how we play and what we need to work on."
