The 23 year old played four times for the Shots in a similar move earlier this year and will be hoping to earn some match fitness as he bids to return to first team football after a spell on the sidelines.
In Boro's League Two promotion winning season Rob was a key player; he made 27 league appearances but picked up his injury training before the Play Off Semi Final against Accrington Stanley. He has since faced setbacks in his rehabilitation but will now be hoping to put that behind him and work towards a place in the team.
Manager Gary Smith spoke to the official website earlier today about the deal, saying "It's a good opportunity for Rob to get himself some competitive football and hopefully get his game back to a decent level. We look forward to having him back at some point to challenge for a first team place.”
