BORO HELP NORTHERN IRELAND U17S

18 October 2012

Stevenage FC have worked with the Northern Ireland Under 17s side this week, as they prepare for their UEFA Under 17 Championship mini tournament in Estonia.

With many of the youngsters based in English youth teams, Boro offered them the chance to train at our Bragbury End and Shephalbury training grounds this week ahead of their flight to Estonia this weekend.

Manager Stephen Robinson spoke to Boro Player today and paid thanks to Stevenage for the help in the build-up to the tournament, saying “Darren [Sarll] has got a foothold in Northern Ireland now and they’re trying to get some of the younger boys over. Stevenage are a progressive club and they offered us the facilities which is fantastic of them and we spoke to the manager earlier today to thank them very much.

“It’s a great set up and really a club that is going from strength to strength s it’s good that they’ve allowed us to use the facilities and hopefully they can get a benefit from getting some of our younger players across as well.”

First up for Robinson’s side will be Wales on Sunday October 21st, followed by a fixture against hosts Estonia on Tuesday October 23rd and a final game against England on Friday October 26th.
