BURROW: BIT OF A DREAM DEBUT

6 August 2013

Whilst there were plenty of smiles around The Lamex at full-time tonight, one particularly happy man was Jordan Burrow who scored on his full Boro debut against Ipswich Town.

The young striker slid home a 76th minute cross from Robin Shroot to seal a 2-0 win against the Tractor Boys and also notch his first goal in Boro colours in an impressive performance.

After the game he told us, "It was a bit of a dream debut to be fair. It’s a great win for the lads, 2-0, we’re into the next round of the hat and a nice goal to go with it, so a really pleasing debut yes.

"They (Ipswich) were a strong side, it was a great result and we’re looking forward to Saturday now and pushing on again."

On not scoring in pre-season, Jordan smiled and said, "I was having a bit of banter with the lads saying I was saving them for when the season starts but the gaffer has been brilliant with me and said “don’t worry about it, they’ll come” and stuff like that. He’s kept faith with me, given me a chance tonight and I’m happy to repay him.

"We’re all keeping level headed, the focus is now on Saturday. Today is a good result but now onwards and upwards. All the lads are confident and we’re hoping to push on. Away at Swindon will be a tough game but we’re more than good enough to get three points so we’re looking forward to it."
