JORDAN: “WE’RE ITCHING TO GET GOING”

2 August 2013

Striker Jordan Burrow has been talking to the official website about pre-season and looks ahead to this weekend’s League 1 opener against Oldham.

The 20-year old joined the club from Morecambe earlier this summer and says he’s pleased to have settled in well.

“I’ve really enjoyed pre-season, I’ve settled in well and the lads have been absolutely brilliant,” he said. “The trip to La Manga early doors was great and everyone got to know each other there. All the coaching staff have been really good and we’re ready and raring to go for the new season.”

His arrival at The Lamex has meant moving up a division, something which hasn’t phased the young striker.

“It’s a big step up from Morecambe here. The training ground speaks for itself and the facilities are brilliant. The players are obviously a better standard too as this is League 1, not League 2, so all in all it is a step up and one that I’m looking forward to taking in my stride and enjoying.

“Personally I think pre-season for me has gone ok. Obviously I would have like to have scored a few more goals but that wasn’t to be. Ultimately though all this work is geared towards the start of the season and I’m looking forward to the league games. For me it’s about working hard, getting a place in the side and going from there.

“We’re all ready to go for Saturday, the lads can’t wait and we're itching to get going. Hopefully it’ll be a nice day, a big crowd and a result to match.”
