Stevenage have been drawn against Premier League outfit Everton in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

After watching their side defeat Championship club Ipswich Town on Tuesday in an entertaining game at the Lamex Stadium, Boro fans now have the chance to make the journey to Merseyside to take on Roberto Martinez’s Toffees.

The game, which will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two clubs, will be played the week commencing Monday 26 August

Stevenage’s love-affair with the cups has been strong in recent years, victories over Newcastle United and Reading are highlights whilst just two seasons ago it was Tottenham Hotspur who found Boro a tough test – a replay at White Hart Lane, after a draw in Hertfordshire, was edged by the North Londoners.

Ticket and travel details will be announced when further details of the fixture are confirmed.
