DINO: A GOOD PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE

3 December 2013

Assistant manager Dino Maamria was a satisfied man after tonight’s 4-0 Herts Senior Cup win at Tring Athletic, saying it was a “good professional performance”.

He told us, “It was good to see all of them get 90 mins and good to see Ben Chorley out there tonight. It was a good workout and we’re into the next round.

"We spoke before the game about underdogs and how they’d have been fancying their chances to get amongst us, to compete and try to beat us. But we were ready from the start.

"We were very professional in the first half, on the front foot, we pressed them high and got on top of them. We scored three and we could have scored more.

"Physically some players suffered in the second half as most of them haven’t played a full game for a while. Having said that we finished the game quite strongly."

Goals tonight were scored by Dean Parrett, Greg Tansey, Roarie Deacon and Jordan Burrow and Maamria was pleased at the goals being shared around.

"Deano was terrific tonight and showed what he can do. He was probably our standout player today. Tansey and Deacon scored good goals and Jordan scored one but could’ve had two or three. It was good to see him in goalscoring positions though. It’s pleasing to see your centre forward scoring goals so that’s nice for Jordan."

When asked about his own ambitions to playing in this season’s Herts Senior Cup, Dino responded tongue-in-cheek, saying, “My grand appearance will happen in the final. When we get there I’ll put myself centre-forward, I’ll take penalties, I’ll be on everything and I’ll make sure I score the winner!”
