Just three Boro loanees were in action this weekend but all had big parts to play in their respective games.
Michael Thalassitis struck a last minute winner for Ebbsfleet United as they advanced in the FA Trophy with a 2-1 third round win at Whitstable Town. With the game heading for a replay Thala hit a shot which, helped by the wind, looped over the ‘keeper and under the bar. It was his third goal in three games and sixth in his last eight matches.
In Skrill South, Matt Ball set up former Stevenage loanee Anthony Jeffrey to score for Boreham Wood in their 1-1 draw with Weston Super Mare. The young midfielder started the game and played 66 minutes before being replaced. That points lifts Wood out of the bottom three on goal difference.
Finally Joseph N’Guessan scored the first goal in Arlesey’s 2-0 win at Stourbridge in the Calor League Premier Division. It was the youngster’s second goal in two games after he scored the opener in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win against Banbury. Harold Joseph and Rohdell Gordon also featured in that midweek victory.
