Boro Player spoke to Lucas Akins today as he and his teammates prepare for the visit of Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night.

Stevenage are hoping to return to winning ways after losses against Brentford and Carlisle United in the last two fixtures and when Lucas told us “Obviously that is the plan, we need to get back to back wins really – we have had wins but could do with back to back wins.”

He continued “The game against Brentford was obviously disappointing to come away with ultimately nothing, but we take a bit of positivity from the performance and hopefully we’ll take it into tomorrow’s game against Oldham.”

The Oldham game comes midweek and is followed by a trip to Shrewsbury on Saturday – more Tuesday games follow this month as the fixture list piles up and when asked if that makes it the perfect time to get on a positive run of form Akins responded “Exactly, you look at teams like Yeovil and Tranmere whoa re still up there and getting back to back wins and getting that momentum with games coming thick and fast can make all the difference so that is our aim. We need to take one game at a time but we know we can do it.”
