Stevenage centre-half Jon Ashton today [Thursday] ruptured his achilles during a training session.The 30 year old will undergo surgery next week and is now set to miss the rest of the season.
The injury blow came as the experienced defender, who has been with Boro since 2009, was making his return from a previous achilles problem.
