CAN YOU PITCH IN?

22 January 2013

Stevenage FC are calling on supporters to help clear the snow from the pitch from 10am tomorrow (Wednesday) so that preparations can begin on ensuring the surface is playable in our next home fixture.

.ndAlthough the next game at the Lamex Stadium is ten days away it is imperative that the snow is cleared from the surface as quickly as possible as leaving it on to melt would almost certainly result in a waterlogged pitch for the game with Leyton Orient on February 2

The pitch has been covered for over a week now and the groundstaff have been working hard to clear as much snow as possible however the sheer extend of the snowfall is evident on the playing surface.

Supporters who can spare any time at all would be greatly appreciated so if you’re free at any point tomorrow from 10am please pop down to the Lamex with your shovel and if you have one, a wheelbarrow, and help to ensure that our next fixture goes ahead.

As well as at the stadium help is also needed at the club training ground, the Shephalbury Sports Academy. The single grass pitch at the complex is frozen forcing the first team to train on astroturf however even this is under snow. From 10am we are asking anyone who can to give us as much time as possible to help clear the astroturf so that the first team can prepare fully for the next game.

An early thank you goes to any supporters who can help out at all and we look forward to working with you to  clear the snow!
