EXCITING SCHEDULE AHEAD, SAYS SMITH

Orient up next for Boro...

Boro Player spoke to manager Gary Smith today as he attempts to put transfer deadline day to one side and focus on Saturday’s visit of Leyton Orient to the Lamex Stadium.

Pointing at the three weeks it has been since Boro’s last game, Smith said “The guys are climbing the walls for a game and I think we will be pretty eager and there will be quite an excitable feel about the group when Saturday comes around.”

Speaking about the upcoming fixtures he continued, “We’ve got a couple of difficult games, I think they all are; the league has proved again this year how tight it is and the Leyton Orient game this Saturday will be just as difficult as any other game we have played here.

“We have been able to put a bit of a line between what has happened at home, we have made a couple of real good additions for the group in Sam Hoskins and Steve Beleck and they have definitely given us a different dimension and a different feel to the group and if you look at our form over the two games that we have played with a front pairing then it has looked a hell of a lot more exciting.”

He admitted that “back-to-back wins really shoves you up that table” and that it would “put you in a really encouraging position”, before going into more detail about the preparation for a “well-organised” Orient side.
