Stevenage FC is calling on all fans attending this Saturday’s League 1 fixture against Leyton Orient to ‘Rock Up in Red’ in support of the British Heart Foundation’s National Heart Month.
Last year this awareness month raised over £1m to support the BHF’s life-saving work but is hoping to raise even more this year. Whilst many workplaces – including the Stevenage FC club office - will be holding their own individual ‘Rock Up in Red’ fundraising events on Friday 1st February, we’d like to extend this to our match on Saturday afternoon and encourage you all to take part by wearing something red to The Lamex Stadium.
Whether it’s wearing a red jumper or jacket, donning a red tie, some red socks or going all out and rocking a top to toe red outfit, we encourage you show support for your town’s team and the nation’s heart charity all at the same time.
Our spotters will be out and about on Saturday afternoon and will reward the best red outfit / effort with free match tickets for a future home game. So be creative!
A bucket collection will also be taking place around the ground on Saturday prior to the game with all funds going directly towards vital research, support and care for those suffering with heart and circulatory disease. Donating to this cause will be particularly pertinent to Boro fans following the tragic passing late last year of former player Mitchell Cole at the age of just 27. Therefore anything you can spare will be appreciated and is certain to make a difference.
We look forward to seeing you all 'Rock Up in Red' on Saturday afternoon!
