Following Saturday’s 6-0 win at Biggleswade Town, Stevenage host their first pre-season friendly at The Lamex on Tuesday night when a QPR XI are the visitors. Not only will this game provide fans with the very first chance to see the new-look Boro squad at home ahead of the new campaign, but it will provide an opportunity to see some of the country's rising stars of the future.
The Opposition
After relegation from the Premier League last year everyone in the Hoops' squad, from last year’s regulars to the youngsters, will be keen to impress and force their way into Harry Redknapp's plans for the forthcoming Championship season. This therefore guarantees a competitive fixture against a Boro team also full of new faces keen to make their mark in front of their new home fans.
A youthful R’s team kicked off pre-season in style with a comprehensive 4-0 win at Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday. Michael Petrasso, Mo Shariff, Peter Skapetis and former Boro loanee Max Ehmer scored the goals in an impressive display by the Championship side.
