The club has a few limited spaces remaining on its NCS Project, the popular summer activity course for 16 and 17 year olds which starts on 22nd July.
The National Citizen Service Project is created with the aim of building confidence, meeting new people, learning new skills and then putting it into practice by creating and managing a social action project.
You need to be 16 or 17 years old to apply (school year 11 or 12) and available between the 22nd July 2013 and the 16th August 2013. The course runs on a Monday to Friday basis.
For those that meet the above criteria the project is a 4 week course running Monday to Friday based around:
- An away residential in week 1 at Condover Hall Mansion house in Shropshire
- A home residential in week 2 at the University of Bedfordshire staying in the Halls of Residence at the Luton Campus
- Project Planning and Fundraising in week 3 based in various locations depending on your project. The timing of the days will be approximately 9am-3pm.
- Project management and delivery in week 4 based in various locations depending on your project. The timing of the days will be approximately 9am-3pm.
To help fill these spaces, the Stevenage Football Club Foundation (the new name for Stevenage FC in the Community) is holding the following two promotional events:
Thursday 4th July 2013 - NCS Event Night in the Broadhall Suite from 7pm to 8.30pm.
This will consist of a short presentation explaining the NCS summer programme in more detail and a Q&A session for young people and their parents/guardians. Entertainment will be provided by local Acoustic acts who are scheduled to start at 7.30, allowing for an hour of music and entertainment. This event is free and open to everybody.
Friday 5th July 2013 - Stevenage town centre promotion
NCS staff from the club will be in the town centre from 10am-3pm promoting the course and answering any questions. You can find them by the fountain and clock tower.
