STEVENAGE FC FOUNDATION LAUNCHED

1 July 2013

Today marks another historic moment in the club's history as it sees the rebranding of its award winning community scheme, Stevenage FC in the Community.

Established in 2009 and registered as a charity since 2010, the scheme provides provision to the local community in the areas of Sports Participation, Education, Social Inclusion, Health and Disability. During the course of last season the scheme racked up an impressive list of achievements including several awards and the following notable delivery accomplishments:

• Delivery to 67,000 people in the local community.
• 4,000 engagement hours.
• 500 player visits.
• Engagement with 80 schools.

The scheme, which will now be known as Stevenage Football Club Foundation, will continue to engage with the club's local community, delivering over 80 sessions per week as the club continues to strengthen its supporter base. The club's former Head of Community and new Foundation Manager Alex Tunbridge stated ‘the rebrand is a big step forward for the scheme and will enable us to source additional funding streams, allowing us to have an even bigger impact in the local community’.
