Manchester United XI
Pre-Season Friendly
Friday 26th July 2013
The Lamex Stadium, Stevenage
Kick Off: 7.45pm

The famous shirts of Manchester United will play at The Lamex Stadium on Friday evening as the Premier League champions send a representative XI for Stevenage's final home pre-season friendly.

After two competitive and encouraging performances against Championship opposition in the past week, attention for Graham Westley's men now turns to United whose youngsters are amongst the country's top talent.

Remember all U7s can gain admission absolutely free for this fixture when accompanied by a full paying adult, so what a fantastic opportunity to bring the family down to The Lamex. With the United squad likely to include a number of future stars it guarantees to be another entertaining game and one definitely not to miss out on.

The Opposition
Whilst the Manchester United first team was busy winning yet another Premier League title last season, its youngsters were unsurprisingly busy winning silverware of their own. The United U21 team beat Spurs in the final of the inaugural Barclays Under-21 Premier League at Old Trafford in May, coming from 2-0 down to record a 3-2 win in what was officially Sir Alex Ferguson's last home game as Manchester United boss.

Much of this squad also won the FA Youth Cup the previous year and will be looking to progress and catch the eye of new manager David Moyes who has already taken a couple of last year's best youngsters on the 2013 pre-season world tour.

One to watch for United in this game is Ryan Tunnicliffe. The all action English midfielder was an integral part of the squad that defeated Spurs and is highly regarded by all at Old Trafford.

In the past few weeks the U21s have played games against Club Brugge (1-0), Waterford (2-1), Ross County (2-2) and Chorley (1-0) with Boro next up as Warren Joyce's men look to remain unbeaten before the start of their new league campaign.
