Boro Player spoke to manager Gary Smith after Saturday’s emphatic win over Sheffield United at the Lamex Stadium and he was clearly delighted to record all three points.
Speaking to the press after the game, Smith described it as “a wonderful result” and continued, “of course Dani Lopez’s performance will make the headlines and rightly so.
“Today was really the highlight of the season at home, a terrific result, a great performance and four goals and a clean sheet.”
One thing that seems to have been missing in recent weeks is the luck needed to win any game, and after a couple of good saves from Steve Arnold and a few blocks on the line when the scores were tighter, it was a fantastic performance that pushed on and sealed the win in style.
Speaking about those moments the manager said “There have been occasions, even as close as Tuesday night, where the penalty was given and I didn’t necessarily think it was [a penalty]. There have been plenty of things that have gone against us so I’m not going to be too disappointed that today, at very important moments, we got it right.”
