KENYA UPDATE – BORO BLOWING BUBBLES

31 May 2013

Day 4 in Nakuru has seen the Boro contingent continue their good work at both local projects.

At Luchema the volunteers once again split themselves between teaching and building. Those assisting in the classroom helped out with English and Maths lessons during the day whilst also being treated to a lesson in Swahili, whilst the remaining members of the team continued with their building work in four of the five classrooms.

The highlight of the day here was definitely when the Boro team brought out the kids bubble pots with the youngsters absolutely ecstatic as we all ran around blowing bubbles, much to their amusement.

Even something as simple as taking a photo of them on our cameras and showing it back to them sends the majority of them into a fit of giggles and made us all really appreciate some of the luxuries we perhaps take for granted back home in the UK.

At Jubilee Academy work on the playground has continued with the completion of the swings, see-saws and the football goals whilst other members of the team continued with their teaching. In the remaining week we have in Nakuru we hope to complete the playground and continue to entertain the pupils there with further teaching and sports coaching.

But for now, a well-earned (soft) drink awaits…
