WESTLEY PLANNING FOR SUCCESS

9 May 2013

As the 2012/13 season begins to come to its close, Boro boss Graham Westley revealed that planning for 2013/14 is well advanced.

Speaking on Thursday, the manager told the official website: "We will be revealing several additions to our squad imminently as we seek to build our way back towards the right end of the League. Plenty of work has been completed; it is just about timing.

“Yeovil Town have shown this season what is possible for us small League One clubs and we are doing all we can to make sure that we can get back on the rise as soon as possible. The key thing is to make sure that we litter our squad with talented players who want to get much better, and who want to get much better very quickly.”

Westley, who returned as manager of Stevenage in March, continued: “It takes a certain mentality and attitude to achieve those things and we have already recruited several new players that we believe have got those ingredients. The best of what we have already got, coupled with our additions, will create a great opportunity for us to kick on again next year.

“We are so determined to give our fans a scintillating attacking game next season, that I can tell you. When sides prepare to play Stevenage, I want them thinking 'Oh my God'. Yeovil began to create that feeling this year with their energy, hunger, togetherness and strong football ethic. They were so organised.

“We just want to be much better than that and we cannot wait to start building our future".
