Skipper Jon Ashton spoke to Boro Player ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Portsmouth and told us he was looking forward to the game.
“We’ve had some great success in the past in the FA Cup. I was fortunate enough to be in the Stevenage teams against Spurs and Newcastle which you could say were giant killings. Saturday’s a different prospect against Portsmouth who are in League 2. I don’t know who will be favourites but we’ll be giving it everything. We’re working hard on the training pitch and we’ll be more than ready.
“The three points aren’t up for grabs on this occasion, it’s about getting through to the next round of the FA Cup. It's a competition that brings out the best in teams and hopefully it’ll bring out the best in us on Saturday.”
