Stevenage have been handed an away tie at Swindon Town in the area semi-final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Boro’s reward for Tuesday night’s quarter-final win over Leyton Orient is a semi-final tie at the County Ground. Newport host Peterborough in the other semi-final in the southern section of the competition.
Manager Graham Westley gave his reaction to us saying, “It’s the one I really wanted. We know we let ourselves down hugely in our 1-0 defeat in the league, even though we could easily have taken a point. This is the chance we wanted to put that straight. To have the bonus of a place in the Final to win is perfect. We have moved on and this is a great opportunity to emphasise that.”
