Defender Luke Jones spoke to Boro Player about today’s win at Peterborough and said it was the perfect response to last weekend’s defeat against Rotherham.
“Everyone did their part today,“ he told us. “It was a good defensive performance in the last 20 minutes or so. We knew we’d come under a bit of pressure, that always happens when you’ve lost a man as well. But we’ve shown in two games now [the other being Leyton Orient at home in the JPT] a resilience to defend our goal, not just in the back three or four but throughout. There was a real willingness to hold onto the points.
“We wanted to overload and cause them problems where they had to think about what they were doing and I think it played into our hands. They started to put balls into the box which you’d expect us to deal with and thankfully we did that.”
