LOAN WATCH

24 November 2013

Find out how our loanees got on this weekend for their respective clubs...

Michael Thalassitis was the only Boro loanee to pick up a win this weekend, with the youngster continuing his recent good form with the only goal of the game as Ebbsfleet ran out 1-0 winners against Basingstoke in Skrill South.

The striker, who scored in last weekend’s win over Bromley, found the back of the net in the 52nd minute with a header into the top corner to help Fleet into the playoff positions for the first time this season.

Elsewhere in the division, Matt Ball played 79 minutes for Boreham Wood in their 1-0 defeat at Eastbourne Borough. The young midfielder was recalled to the starting XI and went close after just 23 seconds when his looping drive went wide of the target. However despite creating a number of chances to take the lead, Wood conceded an 81st minute winner to leave them in the bottom three.

George Allen played the whole game as Bishop’s Stortford were held to a 1-1 draw at Whitehawk, for whom Lee Hills featured following his recent departure from The Lamex. Anthony Furlonge was a second half sub for Hayes & Yeading who suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Weston-super-Mare and subsequently fell out of the playoff places.

And finally in Sky Bet League 1, Marcus Haber played the whole game as Notts County lost 1-0 at Shrewsbury Town. The Canadian could have given the Magpies the lead after just two minutes when he was clear on goal but saw his low effort saved by Chris Weale. Adam Reach’s second half finish gave Town all three points.
